What will be different because you were here?
An immersive gathering for those who sense their work is part of something larger than ambition.
You have built, created, led and contributed. There is experience behind you and, you hope, plenty of life still ahead, but the questions you are asking of it are beginning to change.
It is less about where the work can go next, and more about where your energy truly belongs: what deserves your attention now, the contribution that is genuinely yours to make in a world asking something different of all of us, what you want to stand for, tend and leave behind, and just as importantly, what you are no longer willing to sacrifice to get there.
Your life · Your work · Your contribution · Your legacy
Legacy is a space to step out of the momentum of everyday life and get closer to what matters now, and to what you want the years ahead to be in service of.
What's in the way of your legacy?
The journey begins before we arrive at Florence House.
The journey begins before we arrive at Florence House.
Through two gatherings, personal enquiry and time in nature, we will begin noticing what is already shifting.
Perhaps something that once felt right has become too small. A responsibility has grown heavy. Success has lost some of its meaning. An idea keeps returning. There may be a truth you know but have not yet found the courage to live.
Often the obstacle is not that we have no idea where to go. It is everything we are still carrying.
Fear, loyalty, exhaustion, expectation, the desire to belong, an identity we have spent years building, or a version of ourselves that others have come to depend upon.
At Florence House, we begin with what is true.
Through Circle, embodied enquiry and deep conversation, we will explore the ground you are standing on before reaching towards what comes next.
From there, we move into shedding.
Every threshold asks us to leave something behind. There may be an old ambition, a familiar role, an unsustainable way of working, or the belief that you must continue carrying something simply because you always have.
Grief can live here too.
For paths not taken. For what your work has cost you. For dreams that belonged to an earlier version of yourself. For the world many of us imagined we would be growing older in.
Through ritual, fire and the witnessing of other women, we will give these experiences somewhere to be acknowledged.
Some things do not need fixing.
They need honouring before we can put them down.
Why are we gathering now?
The soul of your work

The Mother Tree
The Mother Tree gives us another image of power, and guides us into a matriarchal form of leadership
A forest offers a radically different picture from the individualism we have inherited. Beneath the ground, trees exist within vast networks of roots, fungi, soil and exchange. What appears separate is held within an intricate living system.
The Mother Tree is a central hub, moving resources towards where they are needed. She does not stand outside the ecosystem she influences, she belongs within it.
This is the essence of matriarchal leadership: rooted not in dominance, hierarchy or power over, but in relationship, reciprocity and responsibility. It asks how we might use our influence to nourish the conditions in which life can thrive.
Together, with our feet planted firmly on the Earth, we will remember the Mother Tree within and listen for our own way of living and leading in service to the whole.
The Return
Claiming your next step as matriarchal leader
The final movement of Legacy is the return.
During our closing time together, we will begin to harvest what has emerged into the choices that follow. This might look like a bold decision, clarity of direction, releasing what has run its course or a map for the next chapter of your life.
You will leave connected to a Circle of women committed to their calling, their legacy. A month later, we will meet online to deepen our connection and support what is beginning to take root.
None of us knows exactly what the coming decade will ask of us, but we can become women capable of meeting it with greater discernment, courage, imagination and togetherness.

A cosy retreat set within six acres of serene grounds.
Inside, you’ll find a snug lounge with hideaway corners and a wood-burning stove for warming up after practice.

A gentle, healing presence; a sanctuary where you can exhale, soften, and remember what it feels like to be deeply held by the natural world.
Space to breathe.

Known for its fresh, homely and creative food, much is sourced from the garden. Our retreat menu reflects what we value most, nourishing, restorative, and delicious.

Here we gather in Circle to find our truth, connection, rest and nourishment.

The beach is a few minutes walk from Florence House.
Sweeping views of the Seven Sisters.

Unique and restful. Some with sweeping views of the sea, others overlook the rolling South Downs or the private gardens, where nature’s quiet beauty invites deep rest and reflection.
