The Living Practice of Being Human

Restoring the art of gathering.

I’m Tanya Forgan, a circle facilitator, somatic practitioner, ritualist and teacher. I create spaces to gather, rest and reconnect, and train women to hold circles in their own communities.

Why this work matters

We were never meant to do this alone.

In a world that keeps us rushing, divided and trying to hold it all alone, gathering is a quiet revolution.

To slow down enough to feel. To listen to someone whose life is different from our own. To grieve in company, ask for support and discover what we can offer each other.

Through circle, somatic practice, ritual and retreat, we practise these ways of being together. And through the women I train, this work takes root in other communities.

A place to be welcomed into your own humanity.

Tend · Grief and ritual

Grief needs a village.

HEARTH

A monthly online gathering to tend grief together through circle, ritual, live music and shared silence. A place for the grief you carry, including what can be difficult to name.

Gather · Community and belonging

Community is something I practise, not only teach.

Places where women can experience connection, rest, ritual and belonging directly.

The Matriarchal Way

A different way of being together. Through sharing, movement, ritual and deep rest, we practise relationship, reciprocity and embodied wisdom, and the matriarchal values that make a community able to hold its members.

It isn’t a workshop and nobody is there to be fixed. It’s a place to be among women who are practising care, honestly, with one another.

Retreats

Time to listen more deeply.

Retreats offer time to step out of the everyday, rest into good company and listen to what is asking for your attention. We gather through circle, embodied practice, ritual, conversation and time on the land.

About Tanya

Belonging is a question I have lived.

I’m Tanya, a circle facilitator, somatic practitioner, ritualist and teacher. I’m mixed-heritage, with a Black Dominican father and a white British mother.

I know something of searching for where you fit, and of shaping yourself to find acceptance. These experiences are part of what brings me to this work.

They shape my care for who feels welcome, whose voice is heard, and what each of us needs to take part without leaving something of ourselves at the door.

Through circle, the body and ritual, I create spaces where we can bring more of ourselves into relationship—with all the tenderness, grief, joy and complexity of being human.
