The Heart of Intention: Samhain Gathering
A Journey through the Wheel of the Year with Tanya Forgan and Blanca Leon
Why Samhain Matters
Long before modern calendars, the ancient Celts marked Samhain (pronounced “Sow-en”) as the true turning of the year. It is the midpoint between autumn equinox and winter solstice, when the harvest is complete and the land turns toward rest. Traditionally, fires were lit, ancestors were honored, and communities gathered to prepare for the long dark.
Samhain reminds us that endings are sacred. It teaches that death is part of life’s circle, that the unseen world is never far away, and that new growth always begins in the fertile dark.
For us today, it offers a vital pause in a culture that often races past the quiet, liminal seasons. Individually, it invites reflection, grief tending, and the release of what no longer nourishes. Collectively, it calls us back to community, to remembrance of those who came before, and to the shared responsibility of carrying their wisdom forward.
Living with Intention
To live intentionally is to notice these thresholds and choose how to meet them.
As the veil thins and the nights lengthen, Samhain whispers:
What are you ready to lay down? What wants to be seeded for the year ahead?
Gathering in ritual gives our answers weight and clarity, allowing intention to root deeply and ripple outward, into our families, our work, and the wider world.
Our Afternoon Together
Join us on Saturday 1 November, 1–5 pm for an immersive afternoon of remembrance, release, and renewal.
Together we will pause the noise of daily life and step into the timeless rhythm of the earth.
You can expect
- Embodied Movement – gentle grounding to settle the body and attune to the earth’s slow descent.
- Samhain Ritual – a candlelit ceremony to honour endings, welcome ancestral guidance, and open to what wishes to emerge.
- Guided Meditation & Embodied Reflection – space to listen beneath the surface and meet the heart’s deepest intentions.
- Sound Healing & Yoga Nidra – restorative rest to integrate insights and soften into mystery.
- Sharing Circle – a warm, held space to speak what you are grieving, releasing, or welcoming, witnessed by loving community.
Why We Gather
In gathering we remember that transformation is not a solitary act.
Our collective presence strengthens each person’s intention and offers a counter-current to isolation and urgency. Together we honour the ancestors, the turning of the seasons, and the living earth that holds us all.
Guided by longtime friends and facilitators Tanya Forgan and Blanca Leon, these Heart of Intention circles are more than workshops. They are Ritual Sanctuaries, places to belong, remember, and come home.
