The Village Hearth

A gathering for weary hearts in uncertain times

with Tanya Forgan and Catherine Holt

We are living through uncertain and tender times. Many of us are carrying more than we realise, the weight of world events, personal challenges, collective grief, and the quiet exhaustion of trying to keep going while so much feels unsettled.

The Village Hearth is a two-hour communal gathering created in response to this moment.

A space to pause, soften and sit together in shared humanity.

Why The Village Hearth Exists

Many of us are moving through a world that asks us to keep going, keep coping, keep holding everything together. Quietly, hearts grow tired. The Village Hearth exists as a gentle counterpoint to that pace.

Here, nothing needs to be solved or improved, and there is no pressure to, perform, or explain yourself.

Instead, we gather in a space that honours: shared humanity over individual striving, presence over productivity and listening over fixing

This is a place to rest nervous systems, to hear and be heard, and to feel the subtle but powerful medicine of community.

What Happens During a Gathering

Each two-hour evening follows a simple, spacious rhythm:

We begin by arriving together, crossing from the busyness of daily life into intentional shared space.

Live music and reflection help us settle, allowing the group to land gently together.

There is space for those who wish to share what is present in their hearts, held in deep listening without advice or interruption.

We close with guided Yoga NIdra and sound, offering the body an opportunity to receive rather than give.

The evening ends slowly, allowing participants to return to the world feeling resourced, connected, and accompanied.

Who This Space Is For

The Village Hearth is for anyone who longs for:

• a place to pause and breathe alongside others
• space to feel without needing to explain
• community that welcomes both tenderness and strength
• time to rest and be held within shared presence

Some arrive carrying grief.
Some arrive feeling overwhelmed by the world.
Some come simply because they miss being in spaces where people gather with care.

All are welcome.

The Spirit of the Hearth

For thousands of years, the hearth was where people returned at the end of the day, to share stories, sing, sit in silence, and remember belonging.

The Village Hearth carries that same intention.

Not a retreat from life, but a return to the heart of it.

This place where, even in difficult times, love can still be felt moving quietly between us.
