As a nation we are in a ‘push paradigm’ in a state of doing, doing, doing. The endless to-do list, work, family to care for, tasks to be done, travel and often more. As a self employed mother, with a hubby, two dogs and an extended family I get it, I really do.
In my work over the years I have seen so many people depleted from rest and it has become more and more evident how this shows up in our bodies. We can feel sluggish, foggy and if left for long enough it can start to show up as sickness and chronic health issues can arise.
The best medicine for this is REST! Yes, it really can be that simple. Deep, deep rest. REST is probably the best investment we can offer ourselves as an act of self care. We cannot pour from an empty cup, right? So we have to keep it topped up.
My deep rest Slow Flow yoga session offer an opportunity for complete down time. A wonderfully calming, slow paced restorative yoga practice with emphasis on rest and deep relaxation to calm the body and mind. The practice itself will involve gentle embodied movement and passive postures. The postures are held for a longer period of time allowing a safe stretch through deeper layers of the body. We will take our attention inwards through guided breathwork and meditation. Soothing music and poetry will guide you into a deeper state of relaxation. The perfect antidote to the daily chatter of the mind and busy life offering a space for healing.
This is open to all and is suitable for beginners to intermediate.
